The emergence of home automation has opened up a brand new thinking and living model, making intelligent life no longer a far away dream for mankind. In interior design industry, there is already a growing trend of applying HA concepts to every corner of life, other than simply deploying them as control media with fancy technology. It can be foreseen that in near future, home automation system will be more popular and individualized, becoming an indispensible part of human life.

RFID Library Solution - Mobile Stocktake Trolley

To improve stocktake efficiency and reduce labor intensity in shelving procedure, HKC has launched the new generation of library mobile stocktake trolley, which is based on RFID technology and integrates multi-functions such as stocktaking, searching, shelving and data collecting & processing.

With the help of mobile stocktake trolley, librarians can count the stock of on-shelve books more easily and generate an on-shelve books list to compare with the registered check-out books list to find out missing books and form a list of them. During stocktaking, librarians can enter keywords such as book title or barcode number to search a specific book and mark in the database. When the marked book is found during stocktaking, the device will send out notification automatically. During shelving procedure, the device can connect the shelf information with book information to update the location information of a certain book.

To fulfill the needs of library, the new generation mobile stocktake trolley has the following features in design:
  • Applied medical mute caster, suitable for passing various types of passages
  • Adjustable reading distance of antenna, which can be limited to read certain level of shelf
  • Handheld Antenna suitable for stocktake of books on high shelves without taking them down
  • Book tray can be lifted to reduce labor intensity of shelving
  • System can be updated and repaired by simple hardware replace

RFID Library Solution - Security Gate

HKC's New Style of RFID Library Security Gate is a tool that serves to enhance the safety & security of materials in libraries. With simple and elegant design, the gate takes up very little space, which avoids a lot of worries for floor planning and fit in the environment of modern libraries.

The reader embedded in the gate can quickly read the RFID tags on circulating materials and compare with the status registered in the system. The device is able to perform 3D scan and generate sound and visual alert signals. When any unsuccessfully check-out materials try to pass the gate, it will close automatically and send our alerts. Meanwhile, the information of books and reader involved will be displayed on surveillance terminals. Additional CCTV system can also be added to the solution to record the on-site situation when an alert is stimulated.

The security gate applies top-class RFID reader in the world, whose annual fault rate is lower than 1% and has no impact on heart pace-maker, pregnant women and magnetic objects. The device is designed in modules and thus can be upgraded by replacing any single components to follow up technology developments.
